The Outstanding Alumni Award


The Cincinnati Children’s Alumni Association proudly presents the Outstanding Alumni Award to at least one alumnus each year.  This award celebrates an alumnus who has made an outstanding impact improving the health of children in service to an underserved community or patient population, development of unique and influential clinical, research or educational programs, impactful research, national or worldwide leadership, or advocacy leading to improved health outcomes.  

Each nominee must meet the criteria set forth, you may self-nominate or nominate someone else. The nomination form can be completed online, https://alumni.cincinnatichildrens.org/alumnus-award or printed, scanned and emailed to Alumni Relations, alumni@cchmc.org.  All nomination forms must be submitted by January 17, 2023.

The inaugural award will be presented during Alumni Weekend 2023.  The awardee(s) will be acknowledged for their achievements during the Medical Staff and Alumni Dinner and will receive a $1000.00 award from the Cincinnati Children’s Alumni Association. 


Nomination Criteria for Outstanding Alumni


A Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) alumni is defined by having started and completed residency or fellowship at CCHMC, or a faculty or medical staff member at CCHMC for a minimum of 3 years or served 3 years as a postgraduate student/research associate or completed a doctoral degree granting program based at CCHMC.  

Criteria for receiving the award is a current living CCHMC alumni with outstanding contributions improving the health of children through any of the following:

  1. Service to an underserved community or patient population
  2. Development of unique and influential clinical, research or educational programs
  3. Impactful research
  4. National or worldwide leadership
  5. Advocacy leading to improved health outcomes.

 

Nomination Process for Outstanding Alumni Award

  1. Read through the brief description for criteria and category.
  2. Fill out the nomination form, making sure all required fields are accounted for including the category for the nominee.
  3. Enter your name and contact information. Please note this information is only for purposes of contacting you if clarifications are requested as well as provide results of your nomination.  Your name will be anonymous to the Alumni Award selection committee and your nominees.
  4. If completing online, once all documents are uploaded, click SUBMIT.  If submitting via email, you will receive a confirmation email within 48 hours.  
  5. All submissions must be received by January 17, 2023.
